Bro. Mark Elder, C.M., artist and muralista in the Department of Art, Media and Design, left, with the Rev. Dennis H. Holtschneider, C.M., president of DePaul, says a eulogy over the gravesite of Minnie Daly, Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Evanston. In his eulogy Elder said of Daly "We honor your memory today Minnie. We honor it and bless it. We do this because of your great care for children in your work. And because of the great example in education you gave others." Holtschneider blessed the grave with holy water following the eulogy. Minnie Daly, the first lay female graduate of DePaul in 1914, was buried in her sister's grave (Florence Daly) without any marker. DePaul recently provided a new grave marker to indicate the site of her burial. (DePaul University/Jeff Carrion)
