Students in Associate Professor of Geography, Patrick McHaffie’s Remote Sensing class take turns flying an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), also known as a drone, teaching them about the latest technology in aerial photography and imaging Tuesday, May 19, 2015 on the Lincoln Park Quad. Remote Sensing is a central part of geospatial data analysis and GIS mapping. McHaffie is incorporating drone imaging into his Remote Sensing I and Remote Sensing II courses to give students the opportunity to learn about and participate in the emerging segment of the remote sensing industry.
